Epinions Amazingly Great, Amazingly Cheap

by  lawman67, top reviewer in Computer Hardware ,  Feb 19, 2004
Pros: G4 power, sexy design, incredible price
Cons: 640MB Ram ceiling, small cache
The Bottom Line: A bargain laptop that thinks its a luxury model, but 90-day tech support is laughable. My highest recommendation.
Review: I didn’t buy the iBook G4, but I did just spend a week using one. In fact, I was very close to buying this machine, and actually would have, had not the PowerBook 12” been better looking. Spending $400(I used student pricing, at retail iBook is ...

Epinions The Mac notebook that "thinks" it's expensive, but isn't

by  mykel8,  Jul 23, 2004
Pros: GREAT value, G4 Power!, Solid Design, Great Looks, Lots of ports, WiFi, Light, Battery Life
Cons: 4200RPM drive, Can be too small, Weak standard warranty
The Bottom Line: The iBook is a great value for a laptop. It looks awesome, runs fast, and is simple to use. I'd recommend it to anybody looking for a Mac-portable!
Review: I've had three months to become comfortable with my new 12" iBook G4 before writing a qualified review, time which I feel is necessary when writing a review on just about any costly electronic device. Just for the record, this iBook is my first personal ...

Epinions There hasn't been a better time to switch.

by  jwgianni,  Apr 27, 2004
Pros: Overall this notebook is portable, fast, lightweight, high quality and elegant.
Cons: One button trackpad drives me nuts sometimes. A little slow loading on some heavy apps.
The Bottom Line: I am extremely happy with this Apple product, I would definitely urge anyone who is considering getting a mac to go for it, I doubt you'd regret it.
Review: I have been using PC's for 10 years now, I work on them all day. The last time I had used a mac was about 6 years ago in graphic design, I never even thought of switching from my PC to a mac until just recently. Portability: The 12" model is ...

Epinions Excellent reason to abandon Microsoft permanently

by  yoshi987654,  Jan 15, 2005
Pros: Built Like a Tank, Battery Life, Mac OSX, Size/Weight, 802.11b/g, Included Apps
Cons: Keyboard pressure, Screen durability
The Bottom Line: Best portable computer currently available
Review: The iBook G4 is in my opinion (I'm not saying this lightly) THE best portable computer one can own, and I have pretty much (as the title states) abandoned Microsoft permanently; done away with its shortcomings, complexity, and unreliability. I won't ...

Epinions I Love My ibook

by  owlwatcher974,  Oct 3, 2004
Pros: Fast, reliable, easy to set-up and use.
Cons: Software can be a little on the expensive side.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend the ibook to anybody who wants a notebook computer.
Review: I have been a pc person for over 5 years now. But I was getting sick of dealing with the constant crashes, lock-ups and meltdowns that my pcs gave me. I wanted an Apple but I didn't want to replace one of my pcs at that time so I decided to get an ibook. ...

Epinions Educational Discount makes 12" iBook a Steal!

by  pilotpat,  Mar 20, 2004
Pros: Design - both aesthetic and functional. Bulletproof OS. Price.
Cons: Lousy Speakers.
The Bottom Line: Awesome base Mac notebook. Priced near or better than comparable WIntel machines. Bulletproof OS. Amazing battery life!
Review: Background My last portable by Mac was a huge affair that I would check out for trips from my office. I can't even remember what the name of it was (this was 14 years ago), but it was immense. Probably weighed 10 to 15 lbs, with a black and ...

Epinions 12" iBook G4; A Review

by  thesman,  Feb 19, 2004
Pros: Attractive design, slot loading Combo Drive, G4 processor (finally), nice display, good battery life, portable
Cons: Smudges easily, one button track pad, small speaker sound, CD Drive is loud.
The Bottom Line: With it's sleek design, ease of use, portability and G4 processor - you can't go wrong with Apple's 12" iBook G4.
Review: I have always been intrigued by the Apple's iBook since its introduction. Not necessarily the design, mind you. The clamshell / toilet bowl design wasn't as attractive to me as the idea that Apple was offering an affordable laptop computer. It became ...
