Makes Food Prep Easy

We got our Kitchenaid Artisan for a wedding gift. We have been using it for over a year now, and while it is fairly large for an appliance, the versatility makes up for it. While mixing isn’t the only feature, it does it like it is the only job it has—very thoroughly and completely. We use it for kneading our bread dough, mixing mashed potatoes, and basically any time we need to mix batter for pancakes, cookies, muffins, etc. It has a variety of speeds, and the lock down swivel head feature is nice to make sure that everything gets mixed. Sometimes when it is on a low speed, it sounds like it is working really hard if the batter is thick, and I would say the same for when it kneads bread dough. But it has never stalled out or anything so I don’t think that’s a bad thing.

By way of accessories, we only have a food grinder. I have only used it for making hamburger, but it does that very well. The bowl is very sturdy, as are all of the stirring attachments. The Kitchenaid Stand mixers do take up a lot of space on the countertop, but if you use them even once a week, they are a good investment.
